THE DEGREE MYTH

Welcome to Episode 340 of the Walking Leader Podcast with your host David Guerra.

In this episode, I talk about about the myth of having a degree meaning "automatic" leader. The reality is this is not the case, it has never been the case, and it will never be the case.

Leadership is never "automatically" given, it is always EARNED. While obtaining a degree is an accomplishment, it is a credential and that is all there is. The rest, including becoming a leader, is up to you. This episode was created to help get you in the right mindset and to dispel all those myths that far too many found out to be not fact later rather than sooner.

In this episode, David shares with you:

  • Where the belief comes from?
  • What College Does Teach Well—and What It Doesn’t
  • Why Leadership Requires More Than Knowledge
  • The Cost of the “Automatic Leader” Mindset
  • How We Change the Narrative
  • and remember: Education informs leadership—but practice forms it.
